Bombshell Valentine

This card is for this month's Bombshell Sketch on the Bombshell Stamps Blog.   With Valentine's day around the corner, I pulled out a classic.  She's the Bombshell Angel  wearing a gorgeous red polka dot dress cut using the Bombshell Angel Clothing Die Cut File

The printed paper is from MME's Lost and Found collection and the cardstock is from Stampin' Up.   The little circles on the front of the card are punched using a 1/2 inch EK Success Circle punch and topped with acrylic dome stickers from Stampin' Up from one of the Build-A-Brad kits. 

The Bombshell Angel is stamped on Neenah white cardstock using Memento ink (rich cocoa) and then colored with Copics.  The dress is cut using Make the Cut software and my KNK Zing e-cutter.   It's then carefully shaded using a bit of Tim Holtz/Ranger Distress Ink. 

The inside of the card is simple with a subtle print, some shading, and more of those punched circles.

Wacky Holiday - Inspire your Heart with Art Day

Bombshell Stamps has fun celebrating wacky holidays throughout the year.  You can read more about it on the Bombshell Stamps Blog Post.  I get a chuckle out of the devil from Bombshell Stamp's Cherry Bomb set.  He has this wicked smile that will just be perfect for my hubby's Valentine's Day card.  

The printed paper is from My Mind's Eye (Lost and Found).  The image is stamped using Memento ink and colored with Copics.   The cardstock is Stampin' Up.   I used a Sizzix Die and Creative Memories punches to make the hearts.

Bombshell Blog Hop - Pink Panther

This month's Bombshell Blog hop theme is "Animal Instinct".  I can't think of a better way to break in my new Panther Tattoo stamp set. I stamped using pink pigment ink and heat embossed the image with Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger.   It's simple but stunning.   The only accent I added was a studded pink rhinestone collar and leash.   

I tried to get some of the shimmer with an angled shot.   Plus the panther and the mat layer is pop dotted off of the card base for some additional pop.

Sunny Ride

I don't know about you, but I could use some sunshine with this dreary winter weather we've been having.   The days the sun peeks through the clouds here seem to be far apart.  I suppose it doesn't help that I spend daylight hours at work 5 days a week.  So to brighten up my day, I pulled out some yummy yellow for this sweet ride. 

The card features the "Harley Bikes" set from Bombshell Stamps and is for this month's Bombshell Sketch challenge.   Check out the sketch and some other ideas on the Bombshell Blog.

Custom Envelope

The envelope punch board is all the rage these days, but I've been making custom size envelopes for ages.   The punch board makes the triangle tipped envelopes.   Here's a way to make square/rectangle flap envelopes and you can make them just about any size you'd like.

For this envelope I chose to make a large square flap "save" envelope.  It can also be used as a gift card envelope or even a gift card itself.  

First step is figuring out what size envelope I want.   So I measured a bill, added some wiggle room and decided I wanted an 3"x7" envelope.

So I drew a sketch to help show the size.   I added half an inch on each side.  The bottom flap that becomes the pocket of the envelope is roughly 2/3 the size of the envelope.   Since I'm making an envelope 3" tall, that flap is going to be 2".   Normally I'd make the fold over flap large enough for a 1/2 inch overlap, but in this case I want the fold over flap the same size as the card - that is 3".  Total size paper for my envelope is 8"x8"  

Time to score my creases.   

I scored half an inch on the two sides.   

Then I scored at 2 inches for my fold up flap that forms the pocket of my 3x7 envelope.   The envelope is 3 inches tall, so my next score line is at 5 inches (2" + 3" = 5").  The remainder of the paper is for the fold over flap.

Crease all of the score lines with a bone folder and then trim off  the sections as shown.  You'll want to leave flaps on the center segment to construct the envelope.

Add adhesive to the flap that will fold up to form the pocket.   I used a Score Tape type of adhesive that gives me a solid bond.   

Voila!  I've made an envelope just the right size to hold some money.   

Here's a quick picture of it folded closed with the large flap.  Remember I made it the same size as the envelope on purpose.   

Now to decorate the envelope.  I just wanted a motorcycle stamped on the flap.  I used Bombshell Stamps Harley Bikes.   It doesn't look like much as I first stamped it since I have such a busy background.   So time to get busy with some of my Copic markers.   And in case you're curious, the print is from 7 Gypsies. 

And the finished product.   This will be a great envelope to stash away a bit of cash for that next treat or trip that I'm saving for.

Happy Bombshell New Year

Hope you have some fabulous celebrations planned to bring in the new year.    This Bombshell gal sure does.   She's ready to party Vegas Showgirl style.   The image is from Bombshell Stamps Butterfly Queen.  The card is a mash up of two challenges Retro Sketches (rs95) and ColourQ (cQc221) challenges.

The Bombshell image is stamped using Memento Ink in in Rich Cocoa and colored with Copic Markers and accented with a Sakura clear Stardust Gel pen.

Here's an angled view to see some of the dimension.   The Bombshell and the main layer of the cards is pop dotted up using SU dimensionals.

And lastly, the inside of the card.   It's simple and mimics the front of the card.

  

Santa's Harley

It's after Christmas.  Santa's made his world wide dash to deliver presents.  Now it's time for his break.   I can't think of a better way to relax than to take a spin on two wheels.  So here's one more holiday card featuring Bombshell Stamps' Vintage Motorcycle
