Bombshell Mojo

This card is a mash up of the Mojo Monday 318 sketch and this month's Bombshell Pin-Up.   Her challenge goes live on the Bombshell Blog this Wednesday.   Stop by and check out some of team's creations.   But for now.... here's my challenge combo creation.

This card features Bombshell Stamp's Harley Motorcycle stamp set.

Patriotic Muscle Car

Bombshell Stamps' Miss July, Michelle Giraud issued a challenge to get patriotic with red white and blue.  I combined that challenge with this week's Mojo Monday sketch (mojo300).   Here's the end result featuring the Vintage Raceway set from Bombshell Stamps.

I used a couple of star punches to add a tone on tone 3D effect on the background layer.   The below angled shot shows this a bit better. 

Love SU dimensionals.  They're so easy to use.  I also love that they are half as thick as some of the pop dots at the big box stores.   Because they're thinner I can add two layers to a card. The circle is mounted with dimensionals and so is the car.   The car has single layer dimensionals on the front which is mounted on top of the raised circle.  The back has two layers of dimensionls to raise the piece to an even level.   

Lastly, the inside of the car.  I just added some strips of paper turned into banners.   Great use for scraps.

Happiest Birthday Flowers

Without this week's ColourQ challenge, I never would have put this combination of colors together.  And for a while there last night, I didn't think it was going to happen.   But before the night was out, I had this card designed and most of it compiled.  I finished it up this evening.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for the layout.  

Here's a close up of the elements that helps show all of the layers. I made my own DSP by stamping on white and then embossed it for texture.  I had to carefully line up the pattern and run the piece of paper through a second time to cover the entire 5 1/8 x 5 1/8 piece of white.   On top of the pennants, I added the label cut out by hand.  I really wish SU would have released that shape die in the size to work with that stamp.  It's just a tease knowing that SU has a die in that shape, but it's too small.  The flowers are stamped and layered using pop dots.  The bits of ribbon are added to mimic leaves for the flowers.  I managed to adhere the label down before I stamped a greeting onto it, so I improvised and added another pennant with a greeting.  I think I like it better this way anyhooo. 

And the inside of the card.  I stamped some more of the flowers and used some craps of the pattern paper from the Twitterpated DSP for another pennant.

Friendly Monster Birthday

Here's my card using this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  I stamped and colored the little monster image some time ago using my Copic markers.   I can't color right now as my hand is still heeling from surgery, so it's a perfect time to put this little one to use.  Oh and I have to add that the colors are for my 8 year old daughter.   It's a bit busy for me, but she thinks it's wonderful.  :-)

Hot Air Birthday (mojo254, cQc150)

Though I had surgery on my right hand, I;m working at becoming more adept using my left hand.  It's tricky, but I was determined to make a card last night.

The close up shows the dimension and layers.  I count 10 layers before it was all done. 

For the bit of yellow ribbon on the greeting, I didn't have that color, so I grabbed my Daffodil Delight marker and colored a piece of white ribbon.

The balloons were stamped by coloring on the stamp with SU markers and then stamping.

Father's Day Clock (cQc139 and Mojo243)

Since I don't often get a chance to participate in some of these great weekly challenges, I thought I'd try to take care of two challenges with one card.   Plus, I need a Father's Day card.  Hey, that's three birds with one stone.

I used the Mojo Monday #243 sketch and the color combo from the ColourQ #139 challenge.

So this is the result of combining 1) the sketch from Mojo Monday, 2) the colors from this week's ColourQ challenge, 3) the Father's Day theme, and 4) the fact that my husband likes clocks.  Voila!

Stamps: The clock stamp is from Close to My Heart (Make it Count).  The greeting and frame are by Stampin' Up (All Year Cheer, Tagtastic).

Mojo Monday on Tuesday (MOJO242)

As a working mom, it's amazing that I managed to do a Mojo Monday card, and this early in the week.   I worked on it last night while hanging out with the family.  The school year is wrapping up and we've got less to tend to in the evenings.  It's actually nice to just chill.

 

Her's the Mojo Monday inspiration sketch.

For this card, I stamped a medallion image using a gorgeous stamp from Holly Berry House, colored it and trimmed it.   This is actually an extra stamping from when I used this image to make ATCs (Artist Trading Cards).  I colored this image with Stampin' Up markers.   The printed paper is from 6x6 pads by Authentique.  Love these papers.  The blue cardstock is Marina Mist by Stampin' Up.  I used DCWV textured brown paper as the base and some matting layers.   The butterflies are punched from some of the Authentique printed paper using Martha Stewart butterfly punches.   I added some ribbon (Espresso Grosgrain by SU and misc. beige stain) and a pearl accent at the center of the medallion.   Viola!

ETA:  I love happy accidents. Turns out this is also a good card for Tuesday Alchemy's challenge for this week, which is "butterflies".  You'll have to go over there and check it out.  They have some beautiful cards there for great inspiration.  

Vintage Harley - MOJO238

I can't believe I finally managed to do another MOJO Monday card sketch.  With as busy as life gets for this working Mom, this seems to happen once in a blue moon.  I do want to take the time to do sketch and color challenges more frequently.  They're really fun.   Here's the card I came up with the MOJO238 sketch. 

A lot was involved in this card.  I was determined to make a masculine card and use embossed metal.   I picked up some Quickutz metal sheets that have an adhesive layer on the back.  I ran it through a Cuttlebug embossing folder and inked it up using Tim Holtz/Ranger Alcohol Inks and Versa Magic Liquid Chalk.   I rubbed some of the extra off of the raised portion using some Alcohol Blending Solution (Tim Holtz/Ranger product) and a simple white eraser.

The alternating squares (or circles rather) were made using several punches and Stampin' Up Cardstock.   I used Creative Memories star punches, a Creative Memories circle punch, and a 1 1/8" EK Success circle punch.  I added a little subtle shading to the yellow Cajun Craze (retired SU color) stars and the Always Artichoke green circles using Stampin' Up dye ink and those wonderful artist sponges that Stampin' Up also sells.

The accent image is stamped using this great vintage motorcycle stamp by Bombshell Stamps and colored with Copics.  I stamped using Tuxedo Black Mememto Ink.  The orange shading on the circle is done with Dusty Durango SU dye ink (retired color).  I added additional circles of Night of Navy cardstock and a silver circle cut out of the same metal I used for the squares.   The tags were cut using an original Sizzix die.  The brad is by Karen Foster.  The ribbon, card base, and greeting stamps are all Stampin' Up.
