Winter Wonder Window

I made these cards earlier this year and have been saving them to post in December.  I still love this card.  it's a clean and crisp card, but it still has layers to make things interesting.

I made these cards not long after buying the Small Madison Window die by Poppy Stamps.   I added another layer of Basic Grey cardstock at the back of the window to create a subtle shadow and additional dimension.

The wreath is from this incredibly intricate Santa & Toys die by Cottage Cutz.  And the stamped image is subtly colored using Copic markers.  The stamp image from Penny Black is actually large enough to cut two windows out of.

Supplies:
Stamps: Penny Black
Ink: Memento
Coloring: Copic
Paper: Stampin' Up
Tools: Poppy Stamps (Small Madison Window die), Cottage Cutz (wreath from Santa & Toys), Paper Studio (wood grain embossing folder)

  1. What is the name of the Penny Black stamp you used? I love this card. Did the stamp give the effect of snow in the branches and on the ground or did you add that? What did you do to show the skyline behind the trees? Sorry for all the questions but I think this such a pretty window scene.

    1. The snow on the branches is from the stamp. It's quite intricate. As for which one, I picked it up at a close out and then I unmount from the wood. I'll search a bit and see if I can find it online. But the stamp is big enough to make two windows... thus the two different versions of the card.

    2. I found it. It's called "Snowy Park" Here's a link: http://www.etsy.com/listing/77156602/rubber-stamp-trees-nature-snowy-park

  2. Sorry, after reading your comments about the card, I realized you'd used Copics to add the dimension. Can you share the colors you used. I'm assuming they were grey tones.

    Thanks

    1. I've got to do a better job of keeping track of the colors I use on a project. I know I used warm greys (W1,W2) for the trees and blue greens (BG10, BG000, BG0000) for the background and snow. Hope that helps.
